Containers

Containers are steel structures that find practical use in the storage and transport of goods both by sea and by land. Their standardised dimensions allow them to exist in global logistics. In addition, thanks to their robust construction, containers have found many other uses, such as offices and flats. The containers are airtight to protect against moisture and wind. The mobility of the containers allows them to be easily relocated without the need for planning permission.

The most popular shipping container models in our range are 20-foot containers (approximately 6 metres) and 40-foot containers  (approximately 12 metres). The external dimensions of the 20' container are approximately 6 metres long, 2.4 metres wide and 2.6 metres high, while the 40' container is approximately 12 metres long, 2.4 metres wide and 2.9 metres high. These containers are predominantly used for the transport of light loads that can be consolidated. Another popular use is as container-warehouses or office-warehouses. We also offer elevated 40-foot container models, called “High Cube”. They are 30cm taller than the standard 40-foot models, allowing taller goods to be stored and easier manoeuvring for unloading and loading inside the container. The 40' "High Cube" containers are available as new and used models.

Refrigerated containers are the perfect solution for storing goods that require special conditions. Equipped with refrigeration units, they maintain the right temperature inside, ensuring the safety and quality of the products. Like other types of containers, they protect goods from adverse weather conditions and mechanical damage, meeting all the necessary standards and quality certificates.

The shipping containers in our range are available in both new and used condition. New “One Way” containers have only travelled one sea voyage from the manufacturer and used models are fully operational and functional, although they may have visible signs of use. However, they do not affect their design or technical performance. Second-hand containers are the most attractively priced proposition, ideal for those starting their own business, especially in the shipping industry.

Shipping containers

Shipping containers are steel structures used primarily for the transportation of cargo. They are the most popular option in this field, providing protection for goods against adverse weather conditions thanks to their cuboidal steel construction. Shipping containers are available in a variety of sizes, including standard and elevated, with lengths of 10', 20', 40' and 45'.

Refrigerated containers

Refrigerated containers, like shipping containers, are steel cuboidal structures, typically available in 10', 20', 40' and 45' lengths. However, their main advantage is their ability to protect goods from adverse weather conditions and spoilage. This is done through the use of refrigeration units that maintain the desired temperature inside the container.

What sizes are shipping containers?

Shipping containers come in standard sizes of 10' (3m) 20' (6m) 40' (12m) and 45' (13.7m). In addition, the containers come in a 30 cm higher version for 20', 40' and 45' sizes, the so-called High Cube.

What is the difference between a new and a used container?

A new container is a container that has travelled one sea trip from the manufacturer, a so-called one way container. A second-hand container is a container that has been in use for several years and shows signs of use, such as scuffs or dents. Despite the exploitation it has undergone it is a fully operational container.

What is a One Way container?

A One Way container is a new container after one sea trip from the manufacturer.

How much electricity do refrigerators use?

How much electricity a refrigerated container uses depends on several factors. The most important thing is the condition of the container. New containers use less electricity than used containers. The frequency with which the container is opened is also important. When goods are cooled for longer periods without opening the container, it will consume less electricity than if we open the gates several times a day. Outdoor temperature. If you want to cool products in summer, the refrigeration unit will use more electricity than if you want to cool products in winter. Internal temperature. The lower the temperature we want to achieve, the more current the refrigeration unit will draw. Quantity of goods inside the container. A container fully filled with goods will need more electricity to maintain the temperature than a container loaded, say, halfway. As a rule of thumb, the average power consumption of a container starts at around 3kWh per day.
